In this issue we will continue the four lines of ministry that began in the first issue of Ministry Digest (vol. 1, no. 1). The first line—The History of the Lord’s Recovery—contains chapters 5 through 8 of “The History and Revelation of the Lord’s Recovery,” which is in volume 2 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1981. These chapters identify the doctrinal views that frustrated the spread of the Lord’s recovery in China, Taiwan, and the United States, the revival in Chefoo, the recovery of the truth concerning Christ being the Spirit, and the post-war revival of the churches in various localities. The second line—Words for New Believers—contains the last chapter of On Knowing the Bible and the first three chapters of Lessons for New Believers, both of which are in volume 3 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1959. These chapters present principles for interpreting the Bible, the surety of our salvation, and the life requirement and response regarding terminating our past. The third line—Maturing in Life—contains chapters 5 through 8 of The Way for a Christian to Mature in Life, which are in volume 3 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1955. These chapters speak concerning the spreading of God’s life in man, God’s grace, the three paradises in the universe, and the final destination of the believers. The fourth line—The High Peak of the Divine Revelation—contains Messages 24 through 27 of the Life-study of 1 and 2 Samuel. Although these messages are not included in The Collected Works of Witness Lee, they are included in this issue because they are the basis for Brother Lee’s subsequent speaking concerning the high peak of the divine revelation.
