In 1986 Brother Lee shared concerning the need to hold regular trainings in addition to conferences. The first semiannual training was held in December of 1974. Here is how he described the atmosphere of those early trainings:

In the beginning the trainings were controlled very strictly. Anyone under the age of sixteen or over the age of sixty was not allowed to register, and anyone who was ill or in a poor spiritual condition was not allowed to come. Moreover, after the trainees arrived, their living was under the training twenty-four hours a day; they were not allowed to visit people loosely or to go out shopping. As soon as the trainees arrived at the registration window, they had to begin living according to the training schedule, including when to rise up in the morning and when to go to bed. They were required to arrive five minutes early for the meetings, and the doors were closed promptly at the meeting time. If anyone was late three times, he was automatically dismissed from the training. The trainees were required to prepare to be tested, and if they failed the test three times, they were asked to leave the training.

By carrying out the trainings in this way, everyone was brought onto the proper track. When the trainees entered into the meeting place of the training, they crossed over a clear dividing line, and no one was loose. Everyone’s spirit was girded up, and the result was very different from the conferences. The saints have strictly adhered to the training regulations. As the one who ministers the word, I have been greatly encouraged…Year after year…the number of people attending the trainings has continually increased. Through the trainings, the truth has been constantly spreading throughout the Western world. This is not a small matter. In recent years, the atmosphere in the semiannual trainings has become more like that of a conference rather than the training atmosphere described by Brother Lee in his foregoing words. One of the regulations of the training is that no trainee is allowed to leave his or her seat during the meeting, that is, from five minutes before the scheduled meeting time until the meeting is dismissed. Nevertheless, saints are leaving their seats throughout the meeting, including while the ministering brother is speaking. In a recent training, in one meeting alone we counted 968 saints who left their seats to use the restroom. On average, the number of saints who leave their seats during a meeting is about 600. This is very disturbing and distracting to the other saints.

The movement of these saints disrupts the attention of the saints, particularly those who sit at the back. Some even stand at the back and make phone calls or talk to others. One way to limit restroom usage is to monitor and limit your fluid intake. It is also a regulation of the training not to eat or drink anything during the meetings. We encourage all the saints to be diligent to keep the regulations and to consider all the others who have paid a price to attend the training.

May we all endeavor to keep the training regulations established by Brother Lee so that the standard and atmosphere of the training may be uplifted to a level that matches this ministry.

For all those who will be serving with the college student study sessions here at MCC or at other venues during this training, there will be an important meeting today at 6:15PM in room NW2 of the Ministry Conference Center to pray, fellowship, and coordinate for the study sessions. Please do your best to attend and bring your dinner, even if you have attended before. There is no entrance to NW2 from the main meeting area; please use the northwest exterior doors for entrance.

Printed study questions will not be available at this exit. Printed study question sheets will be available at all other exits.

Book orders may be placed at the customer service counter located inside the LSM Bookstore in the northeast corner of this building. Orders are usually available for pick up the following day. If you wish to place an order to be picked up during this training, please place your order no later than the dinner break on Thursday, July 2. Pickup orders received after the dinner break on Thursday will not be available for pickup until the following Tuesday, July 7, 2026. There will be no exceptions. Today the Full-Time Training “ONLINE" allows you to go through the same FTTA curriculum completely online in your own home.

If you are interested in getting into the truth in an educational way, there will be a brief information session about the FTTA online program on Thursday (tomorrow) during the break, starting at 6:20PM in room NE3.
